Cuba received the award "Excellence as the safest country for tourism" during the XXXVIII International Trade Fair -Fitur 2018-, which took place until January 21 in the Spanish capital.
The recognition was received by the Cuban minister of the sector, Manuel Marrero, who heads the delegation of the Island to that appointment, and the ambassador of the Greater Antilles in the Iberian nation, Gustavo Machín.
Among the activities that stood out in this International Tourism Fair is the declaration of Havana as the Capital of the Cocktail of Ibero-America, a declaration that was signed by the Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, and by the President of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy of Spain, Mr. Rafael Ansón.
Cuba has the best indicators of citizen security in the entire region and in many countries around the world.
In addition to the Cuban hotel chains, Iberostar, Meliá and Blue Diamond executives were present, as well as a representation of Cuban Medical Services and the Caracol chain of stores.
In the context of the fair, inaugurated by the Spanish kings Felipe VI and Letizia, also participated the main European and Canadian tour operators.
